If you’re a freelancer or part of a startup working in Bangkok, you might have heard of HUBBA, a co-working network for startup entrepreneurs, innovators, and freelancers that spans across three locations in the heart of the city: HUBBA Ekkamai, HUBBA-TO, and Discovery HUBBA.
HUBBA Ekkamai was the first of the spaces, and proudly boasts the title of being Thailand’s first coworking space. It sprung from a humble beginning in a two-story house before growing rapidly and becoming one of the city’s success stories in entrepreneurship.
The HUBBA network aims to offer more than simply providing a coworking space, providing full-service meeting rooms, tools, and more importantly training and professional support geared toward giving startups their best chance of succeeding. Collaborating with other members sharing the space is strongly encouraged, and events are held at each of the spaces.
Moving into the more creative sphere, HUBBA-TO breaks apart from the other spaces by also including a ceramic studio and food lab in addition to desk spaces and meeting rooms.
Each space has a different aesthetic; from the industrial chic of HUBBA-TO, to the clean, minimal interior of Discovery HUBBA. HUBBA Ekkamai, meanwhile, has a more homey feel, which is perhaps very fitting considering its modest start in a two-story house. Ekkamai's events room is particularly attractive, housed in a greenhouse-like frame and surrounded by lush foliage. And for the cat lovers, there's even a friendly feline living at HUBBA Ekkamai, adding to its homely vibe!
HUBBA's Facebook page shows evidence of plenty of community activity, from networking events, to workshops, lectures and more.
