Finnish-Swedish comic book artist Minna Sundberg has illustrated this beautiful linguistic family tree, which visualises the shared histories of the world’s languages, and places particular emphasis on the Nordic languages.

Far from simply being an aesthetically-pleasing infographic, this image is actually a page from her web-based comic ‘Stand Still. Stay Silent’ and its preceding page is also a great language primer, too.
